Boys & Girls Club - Teen Center
Holland, MI

| PROJECT DETAILS: |
|
| This former church no longer resembles its former life. Using common materials in creative ways, the worship space was converted into a new teen center featuring a state-of-the art stage, snack bar, game room, computer lab, study room, breakout areas, fitness room and movie area while maintaining the look of being outside on a city street.
Through extensive value management that progressed throughout the entire project, the project was actually constructed under budget with all the savings going toward the operating expenses of “The Club.”
“The relationship we had with Elzinga & Volkers throughout the duration of the project was nothing less than spectacular. As a non-profit agency developing this project with limited funding, budgetary focus was an imperative component to the successful completion of the center. Not only did Elzinga & Volkers pay very close attention to our financial restraints, but they created cost saving options while never jeopardizing the integrity or spirit of our endeavor. Our final costs, due primarily to the stewardship exercised by E & V, allowed us to come in well below the initial estimated costs of the project.”
